A word about batteries

The battery mount/basket riser is designed for rear rack batteries that have the aluminum battery install plate that the battery slides onto and locks to. These are standard rear rack type enclosures. This enclosure is versatile for the battery pack maker to fill with 18650 lithium ion battery cells, assembled into a battery pack configuration to obtain the desired voltage and amp hour output ratings. 18650 is a common size of lithium ion battery cell that measures 18 mm in diameter and 65mm in length which is slightly larger than a “AA” battery.

Don’t judge a book by the cover. You will find many choices of 18650 battery packs inside this standard enclosure for sale in the marketplace. They vary as to what’s inside the enclosure in terms of quality and energy storage capacity of the lithium-ion battery cells, and how they are configured. Configured refers to the number of 18650 cells in parallel and series wiring to obtain the voltage and amp hours rating of the battery pack. 

Selection of the battery pack is based on the e-trike motor that you are using with it. Electric conversion kits will specify the voltage, typically 36v or 48v, and the minimum AH (amp hour) rating.

The batteries offered here are manufactured by Dongguan Shengli Energy Technology Co., Ltd. They produce the lithium ion 18650 battery cells and assemble them as a battery pack into the rear rack style battery enclosure.
